Prayer

September Guided Meditation

Text Meditation

It is not I, but the Christ within who does the work.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”—1Thessalonians 5:16-18

What an honor it is to join in a sacred time of prayer and to unite our minds and hearts with people around the world in a spirit of oneness. Rejoicing in this oneness with one another and with God, we form a powerful bond that sustains us and assures us that we are never alone.

We are spiritual beings, expressions of the love and power of God. As spiritual beings, we know all that we could want or need is already ours to claim and to use. Let us celebrate this truth in this sweet time of prayer.

Peace soothes our souls as we rest in the assurance of God’s love.

We breathe in the love of God. Moment by moment we feel this love enfolding us and flowing through us.

This infinite love is our source of peace and the fulfillment of our hearts’ good desires. We immerse ourselves in love and peace, knowing that in this state of being, nothing can disturb us. Our minds are peaceful, our hearts are open, our souls are pure.

We release all to God, knowing that the highest blessing for ourselves and those we hold in prayer awaits our recognition and claim. With faith in our hearts, we pray …

God is our guiding light. We follow the path of peace and fulfillment.

The light of God dwells within us and guides us in all we do. In this quiet time, we hear the sweet whisper of Spirit, “You are the light of the world. … Let your light shine.”

We let our light shine as peace and understanding. Our thoughts, our words, and our actions are all inspired by the light of God.

Letting our light shine, we make choices that will enrich our lives and bless others. Our lives follow a divinely led path—one that leads to greater peace, joy, and fulfillment.

One with the light of God, we enter into the silence of prayer …

The revitalizing life of God heals our bodies and renews our spirits..

Focusing our thoughts on divine life now and becoming aware of our heartbeats, we feel the life of God pulsing throughout our bodies, carrying healing energy to every cell. What precious oneness we feel with the life of God that dwells within!

We are revitalized and made new through the life of God. In this awareness, we celebrate our wholeness. I give thanks for ever-renewing energy and strength. We rejoice in peace and love.

Recognizing this healing life is within all people, we visualize each person we hold in our hearts as whole and free. We are one with all people in a spirit of life and renewal as we return to the quiet of prayer …

We realize true prosperity as we open our hearts
to the goodness of God.

It is God’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom. We know deep within our hearts that we are created to experience the goodness of God in full measure. And so we release any sense of fear or lack and open our hearts to experience this abundant goodness.

God’s will for us is infinite good. In this sacred moment, we embrace our good and welcome it into our lives. We live with a spirit of joy and peace in our souls.

In the sure awareness that God’s abundance is available for everyone, we affirm prosperity in our lives and in the lives of all for whom we pray in these quiet moments …

Rejoicing in our oneness with God and one another, we celebrate healing in every aspect of our lives and in the world.

We set our intention to look for the divinity of each person, each creature on the planet and to recognize the divine in all. Giving thanks for the goodness of God and for expressions of peace, love, harmony, and oneness, we join in fellowship and celebration.

We see the goodness of God expressed in every element of the earth. We give thanks for an environment of wholeness and know that all is truly well as we return to the silence of prayer …

It is time to bring these sacred moments of united prayer to a close. In a spirit of love and peace, we bring our thoughts back to this time, this place, knowing that we have indeed blessed ourselves and others in prayer.

As we return to the activities of the day, we will keep our spirit of oneness and celebration of life and living close to our hearts. To conclude this time together, let us pray together the “Prayer for Protection”:

The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches
       over us.
Wherever we are, God is!
