Unity is seeking an intern to assist with the coordination of our marketing programs. This intern may work up to 36 hours per week, Monday through Thursday; however, we are willing to negotiate a more flexible schedule. Additional hours beyond the summer months will be available, but not required.

The Circulation Department, of the Publishing Division at Unity, is responsible for audience development of new subscribers; the retention of existing subscribers; the management of the dailyword.com online product; distribution of the magazines; and, testing new sources for subscribers.

The majority of marketing is direct marketing via direct mail, Internet and online. All promotions responses are tracked and measured for ROI (return-on-investment) and profitability efficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. College student with a minimum of 32 credit hours or high school graduate with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and plans to study marketing.
  2. Marketing classes or marketing emphasis preferred – general business administration will be considered.
  3. Experience or interest in direct marketing (measuring ROI and analytical skills) a plus.
  4. Interest in hands-on coordination of (direct) marketing projects.
  5. Working knowledge of all Microsoft programs (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  6. Experience or interest in online marketing a plus.
  7. Organized; deadline driven; and, analytical skills a plus.
  8. This is a nonpaid internship.
  9. Ability to work with a variety of people in a nonprofit, spiritual environment.

DUTIES:
  1. Assist New Subscriber Acquisition Supervisor with direct mail programs.
  2. Assist Alt. Media Supervisor with reports (running reports and analyzing response) on dailyword.com.
  3. Coordinate marketing programs on dailyword.com.
  4. Coordinate running and analysis of ACS reports.
  5. Assist Circulation Manager with NSFM promos (as needed).
  6. Assist with coordination of online readership surveys/polls.
  7. Other projects as assigned.
